None. They shouldn’t have been on the floor.
End of post.

Can you tell that I’ve been cleaning all morning and that it puts me in a BAD MOOD? Organised housewife, I am not. I always leave it until Friday so that I have the lure of a 5 o’clock wine to get me through the drudgery and filth. Isn’t it astonishing how dirty such small people can be.
Now, I’m looking for a helper (no, not to clean my carpets). Next week I’m going to put together another weekly meal plan post. Do you want me to base it around your schedule? Let me know which days you work, or which days you’re home late after sport/classes and which days you’re free to cook, and I’ll do up a plan tailored to a REAL. LIFE. FAMILY.
Happy weekends. I’m off for a posh get-away with my newly 40 year-old, Mr VS.

I have never rummaged through a vacuum bag either. I hate little bits. I *may* have even thrown a few puzzles in the bin because I was sick of the bits!! Enjoy your weekend away…. sounds like you deserve it this week !!! Sonia x

I agree wholeheartedly. If they are on the floor, and small enough to be sucked up by the vacuum, then they are gone! Especially whatever is under the couch!

I don’t rummage through the vacuum cleaner bag either….too bad, so sad!
I would love it if you could plan it around my schedule….hint, hint.
I currently work Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening and get home at about 8:30pm-ish so if you could suggest something that I could either cook ahead or cook for my poor starving hubby before I leave for work that would be great! At the moment he is either not eating, eating junk food or just snacking all night long!!
Enjoy your weekend away 😉
Sorry if I posted this twice….

Lego, nothing worse than missing a little bit!

yes, granted, i won’t deliberately vacuum over lego if i see it (unlike some other pesky little things). I will actually stoop over and pick it up and pop it somewhere safe. especially star wars & ninjago weapons. Which are annoyingly small.

Pick me, pick me!!!!
I work Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights (yep, that makes for a really exciting weekend!!). I start at 5pm until 11pm and often wonder what I can cook ahead and have ready for my hubby to heat up and feed my starving darlings – Mr almost 6 and Miss 2.5!
Our week looks like this:
Monday – all home at a reasonable hour
Tuesday – swimming after school so I love to have something ready to feed my hungry swimmer as soon as we get in
Wednesday – hi ho hi ho, it’s off to work I go
Thursday – we’re all home but it’s usually the night I run to the shops for a bit of time out without the kids!
Friday – off to work again!!
Saturday – yep, another exciting night at the office!!!
Sunday – home….and we try to share a good family dinner before starting another busy week!!!
Please help!! I’m sick and tired of coming up with meal plans that always seem to fall by the wayside!!!

Sounds like you must be exhausted by the end of your week Emma – you’re the second who works later hours – so I’ll come up with a bunch of ideas that will suit both of you.

I’ve been following your blog for a few months and love how you articulate a real mums point of view! Your post today made me laugh. I just vacuumed earlier today and sucked up a few toys! Bring on 5 o’clock wind time!
My toddler hates my cooking but I still persevere, the rest of the family love your recipes to date.
Enjoy your weekend

Monday & Tuesdays I’m at work, so I get home late from after school care & childcare pick-ups. Thursday’s we have drama class after school. That’s not too bad?
